A very brief history
Spot didn’t happen overnight. It grew out of years of doing hiring differently.
Back in 2002, long before flat-fee recruitment was a buzzword, our founders Richard and Phil were already working with this model at Guru. They saw first-hand how the traditional “percentage fee for every placement” model favoured the agency, not the business doing the hiring.
That early insight stuck. It didn’t just save money, it changed how people experienced hiring.
Fast forward, and Spot is now the next chapter of that thinking, updated for modern businesses with modern tools, but grounded in the same belief:
